Chippawa Park
Chippawa Park is a destination park, from athletics to floral gardens, historical monuments and more. The gardens feature a variety of roses that are the perfect backdrop for weddings, photography, picnics or part of a evening stroll. Athletes of all abilities gather to play beach volleyball or a quick game of baseball, while others head to the pavilion or under the large trees for shade.
The Welland Crowland War Memorial can be found at the highest elevation of the park, the Cenotaph is unique because it departs from the usual design of a single soldier so common with other monuments from that vintage. A soldier and a woman are featured to symbolize the “Service and Sacrifice” element of the war. Dedicated not only to those who fought, but to those who supported the war effort at home.
In the gardens another statue is found this time a bronze statue is featuring Ablan Leon, founder of Leon’s, sitting on a couch along with two recliner chairs and a coffee table. It's time you Discover Chippawa Park.
